Rosacea
This is a common skin condition that mainly affects the face. It can cause redness and flushing, stinging or itching, spots and thickened skin. Your GP can prescribe antibacterial and anti-fungal creams and gels, but here are some other ideas.
Tips
Thyme Out
This claims to be able to treat loads of inflammatory skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, cold sores, itchy and inflamed skin, cuts, grazes, prickly heat and nappy rash. Can also be used as a deodorant. Use with a cotton pad, and dampen the area well as required. Available from Victoria Health in the UK.
Elizabeth Arden Probiotic Cleanser
I tried using this cleanser, as it is supposed to contain probiotics, which are supposed to be good for rosacea. It is a lovely cleanser, and I think it did improve my rosacea a bit.
Mother Dirt
This is a spray, and pretty expensive, but is supposed to return probiotics to the skin, and can treat eczema and acne too. Can also be used as a deodorant. Available on Amazon.
Dr Weil’s Mega Mushroom products
These are amazing products for calming red and inflamed skin. The Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion is a superb tonic to soothe and restore.
